FUNDING
The Memphis “BEAT THE ODDS” Foundation is funded entirely by contributions from businesses, corporations, and individuals. Contributions are both financial and in kind (generally gifts for the honorees). As a 501 (c) 3, to the extent provided by the law, financial contributions to the Memphis “BEAT THE ODDS” Foundation are tax deductible. |

ACCOUNTABILITY MBTO BUDGET
Because the MBTO Committee is composed almost entirely of volunteers, we have very few expenditures for staff services, therefore most contributions go either directly to the award winners or to the costs of the recognition event that is held to celebrate them and their achievements. Detailed budget figures are available upon request. |

STAFFING
Members of the MBTO Committee are volunteers who represent many segments of the Memphis community, including colleges and universities, public and private social services organizations, hospitals and health care organizations, and local private corporations. A listing of supporting and contributing individuals can be accessed by clicking on the Community Partners button on the navigation bar. The committee meets regularly for planning sessions, whether to evaluate the last year's awards banquet or to plan the next year to ensure that each awards banquet is a festive and memorable celebration. Sub-committees include finance, facility, nomination/selection, fundraising, publicity, and program. |
